Some metrics are not evenly distributed. Some metrics have a long tail on one side of the average.
For example, your average work commute might be 40 minutes. It may never take 20 minutes (due to the laws of physics), but it might infrequently take you an hour or more due to traffic or train delays.
Wordle scores are another example. Guessing the daily word is much more likely to take six tries than one try.
